Sony delves into the world of Budget Devices with the Xperia M2

We’ve already told you about the Xperia Z2 tablet, and that wasn’t the only device Sony showed off at MWC. They unveiled the Xperia Z2 handset, and also surprised some folks by jumping into the mid-range arena with the Xperia M2.

Sony’s flagship devices are going to make a dent in Samsung’s sales this year, and while the Xperia M2xperia M2 isn’t quite up to snuff with Sony’s high-end devices, it’s definitely a device to take notice of if you’re on a budget. Here’s what you can expect from the Xperia M2…

  • 4.8-inch (540 x 960) multi-touch display
  • 1.2GHz quad-core MSM8926 processor
  • Adreno 305 GPU
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 2300 mAh battery
  • 8GB of Storage (expandable up to 32GB)
  • 8MP Exmor RS camera
  • HD Video at 1080P
  • 4G LTE support, NFC, WiFi

Sony may have cut the specs down on the M2, but you can still expect a sharp device with a solid snapper that’s waterproof. The Xperia M2 is expected to launch in April although specific regions and dates weren’t mentioned. The same can be said for the price, although many expect the handset to go for around €220 or less unlocked. We do know it will be available in the usual three colors of black, white, and purple.
