BLU unveils the Blu Studio 6.0 HD smartphone

If you’re looking for a big phablet, but can’t afford to drop hundreds of dollars, BLU has just the thing for you. They’ve just announced the newest smartphone in their lineup with the Blu Studio 6.0 HD, and it’s a massive handset build for folks on a budget.

As with most budget devices, the Blu Studio 6.0 HD is a mid-range device with a massive 6-inch screen. Luckily, that screen sports a resolution of 1280 x 720 so you’re still getting a sharp display compared to some mid-rangers with lesser displays. Under the hood of the Blu Studio 6.0 HD, you’ll find a quad-core Mediatek (MT6582) processor clocked at 1.3GHz, 1GB of RAM, and 4GB of storage which is expandable up to 64GB via the microSD slot.

Rounding things out are an 8MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing shooter, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and all the usual bells & whistles. We have no idea how the battery life will be on the big device, but a non-removable 3,000mAh battery will provide juice to the Blu Studio 6.0 HD. As for the OS, it’s going to ship with Android 4.2.2 instead of KitKat 4.0 although it could see an update down the road.

While you may not have been impressed with the Blu Studio 6.0 HD’s specs, you will definitely be stunned at the price. The massive smartphone will only set you back around £148/$250 unlocked and sans contract. The handset will be available in Black or White sometime in May from Amazon if you’re interested in picking one up.
