Oppo Find 7a Smartphone Hits the UK With Better Specs, Pricing Than Its Competitors

Oppo Find 7a

The UK’s mobile market is the not-so-fickle beast that’s incredibly tricky to be tamed. Look in the palms and pockets of many a UK resident and the phone within will likely be made by either Apple, Samsung or LG, with a few Blackberry or Nokia branded outliers.

Who the phone will unlikely be made by is Oppo, the Chinese mobile manufacturer which made a big splash at MWC 2014 (Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona this year with the Oppo Find 7, the smartphone that Oppo claimed to have a 50 megapixel camera to take photos with. Its smaller smartphone sibling, the Oppo Find 7a, doesn’t quite reach those camera snapping heights but it is still impressive nonetheless and as the phone has just been announced for a UK release, it makes a very strong case for why British buyers should consider it over anything else.

Oppo Find 7For one, the Oppo Find 7a retails for 399 Euros, which is around £200 cheaper than every other high-end smartphone on the market (including the iPhone and the soon to be released Samsung Galaxy S5) and when the stakes (and the prices) in the mobile market are this high, that’s an offer that many consumers will be unable to refuse.

But what will they be getting for this price? A whole lot of decent specs actually, as the Oppo Find 7a not only brings with it a glorious 5.5-inch Full HD display, it’s also powered with the very latest Snapdragon quad-core processor (2.3 GHz) too, making it just as fast as the far more pricey HTC One (M8). On the photo front, the Oppo Find 7a may not be able to scratch the surface of the whopping 50 megapixels of picture power that the Oppo Find boasts but it does have a 13 megapixel camera that can shoot both 4k and slow-mo videos, which, unless you’re Michael Bay, is more in line with what you’d want from a smartphone with a camera anyway.

In addition to this, the Oppo Find 7a is even throwing in a boatload of freebies ahead of its European launch to make investing in a less heard of brand even more worth your while. If you pre-order the phone, Oppo will even throw in the rather generous bonuses of a case, a 32GB SD card and a spare battery and considering that an SD card is one of the first things new smartphone owners find themselves having to invest in and a worn out battery is a prime reason for getting a new phone, that sounds like a very good offer indeed.

The Oppoa Find 7a will launch in the UK and Europe in about a month, where it will be available in two colours – White and Midnight. We’ll keep you posted once we know more.
