Samsung Galaxy Ace Style Announced, Will Offer Android 4.4 On a Budget

There’s something to be said about the high-end market of smartphones being so expensive and that’s that not everyone can afford them. Namely those looking for a cheaper option of phone aren’t going to be satisfied by phones like the so-called ‘budget’ iPhone 5C which offers less of a technological punch than its Android competitors but you’ll still find yourself paying upwards of £400 for it. That’s hardly suitable for those who want an adequate smartphone so some compromises will have to be made. Luckily, none of the ‘vitals’ are being thrown out with the bathwater to shave off the pennies with the Samsung Galaxy Ace Style which will give users access to Android 4.4 KitKat for much less than its premium Samsung Galaxy S5 sibling.

The ‘Style’ in the Samsung Galaxy Ace Style’s name is gifted to it by its plastic case, which comes in either “cream white” or “dark grey” but doesn’t look unsightly despite the lack of an overly fancy finish. That style is backed up by a reasonable amount of substance though, with the phone including 512MB of RAM, which is a quarter of what the Samsung Galaxy S5 and its 2GB of RAM can offer but that’s fine enough to pay some casual games. It also includes a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, which again, isn’t made for incredibly intensive use but would likely be able to hold its own. Too, the Samsung Galaxy Ace Style offers just 6GB of internal storage which isn’t really good enough for, well, much media at all once you take into account pre-installed software and the operating system, but the fact that the phone allows for a microSD card of up to 64GB is bonus.

Other things to weigh up are that the phone will have the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system, the most recent Android operating system available (and one of the best operating systems on the market) which is likely the biggest selling point about it, but the 5 megapixel camera on the back of the phone may be a deterrence (the camera on the front hasn’t had its specs revealed) for those looking for a decent camera snapper.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace Style will be launching later this month in the UK and will likely retail for around £116 or less on contract (if pricing for the similar Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 are anything to go by) so we’ll keep you posted once we know more.
