Sky Launches WatchOnSky Interactive Twitter Hashtag

Sky has launched a new interactive hashtag on Twitter. The new tool will be used by Sky to group tweets on upcoming  sporting events and movies using the hashtag #WatchOnSky letting you see a stream of shows you might be interested in watching or recording on your Sky+ box for later viewing.

If you see a show you like, you can expand the tweet to reveal options to Watch now via Sky Go, or Record sending a command to your Sky+ box to record the show – assuming you have these services configured in advance.

This is the first time Twitter has been used by a UK broadcaster to view or schedule recordings of television programs.

Luke Bradley-Jones, Brand Director, TV Products, Sky said:

#WatchOnSky is another brilliantly simple way for our customers to find and watch the shows everyone is talking about. By simply clicking on a Tweet, customers can either instantly watch live TV or record shows for later. It’s all part of our commitment to make it even easier for our customers to discover great TV and make sure they never miss those virtual water cooler moments.

The #WatchonSky hashtag will be used across all of Sky’s Twitter accounts to promote various shows across the network.
