The affordable Micro 3D printer heads to Kickstarter

3D printing is cool, but largely ignored by the average joe as they are pretty expensive for a gadget. That’s all about to change thanks to a new Kickstarter project from M3D called The Micro.

The Micro 3D printer is made to be affordable and make 3D printing accessible to everyone. It’s not huge and clunky with dozens of wires and moving parts either, as you can see from the photos it’s rather sleek and simple to use. If you can click a mouse to download a model, you can print it.

While The Micro can’t do some of the things that its $30,000 brethren can do, it can still produce some nifty objects and it’s ready to go right out of the box. It’s also very, very cheap. As you can imagine, people are excited about the gadget and you’re going to want to act fast if you want to get The Micro early.micro3dprinter

The campaign just got started today, and M3D has already raised a staggering $599,959 of their $50,000 goal. It’s safe to say this one is “successfully funded” and there’s still 29 days left on the clock. The first 750 early bird units are already gone (two tiers), and there are only 1,132 spots left at the next backing level of $299. More levels could be added as the campaign progresses, but the $199 back level is long gone. Again, you’ll want to act fast if you want one anytime soon.

The Micro 3D printer is definitely one of the cooler looking 3D printers we’ve seen, and it’s by far the most affordable when it comes to printers that are consumer friendly and ready to roll. If you’re interested in picking up The Micro, just hit up the link below and head on over to their Kickstarter page.
