Galaxy Note 4 tipped to have a 5.7-inch QHD display

The Galaxy brand may represent Samsung’s flagship, but the Galaxy Note series has been gaining ground over the past few years. S5 Prime rumors aside, if you were not impressed with the S5, you’ll be pleased to know that a new leak puts pops that missing QHD display into the next version of the Galaxy Note 4.

The folks at GSMarena have obtained some information from one of their sources that show several Samsung handsets and tablets along with their codenames, model numbers and a few specs. The Galaxy S5 family is well represented as the Galaxy S5, S5 mini and S5 Prime are all shown along with a device codenamed “Muscat” which is believed to be the Galaxy Note 4.

The Galaxy Note 4 carries the model number N910 which makes sense considering it would likely be the crème del a crème of their lineup and the model numbers of the other devices rise as the specs improve. The Galaxy S5 is listed as a G900 while the “Prime” variant is G906 – the N910 would obviously be at the top of Samsung’s food chain when you’re playing the numbers game.gsmarena_001

Both the Prime variant and the Galaxy Note 4 are shown to have QHD displays with a resolution of 1440 x 2560. It’s not a surprise that Sammy’s top-tier devices would sport hi-res displays, but it is a little surprising to see that the display size may actually stay the same this time around considering it’s listed at 5.7-inches which is the same size as the Note 3. That’s not necessarily a bad thing either as a lot of folks wouldn’t necessarily want a bigger Note.

No other specs were mentioned aside from the 515ppi on the Note 4’s big QHD display, but it’s safe to say you can expect 3GB of RAM and the latest Exynos or Snapdragon chip available. It’ll be big and it will be fast, but will it be enough to compete against the fabled 5.7-inch iPhone that should drop around the same time?
