The Amazon Smartphone gets leaked again

It’s hard to keep a secret these days as the leaks come fast and furious. Every manufacturer has to deal with it, and Amazon is the latest as we’ve just gotten our first good look at the upcoming Amazon smartphone.

The new leaks come courtesy of BGR, the same site that gave us our last look at Amazon’s handset. The new photos were intended for graphic designers at Amazon, and clearly show one of the new Amazon smartphones set to be released this year. It’s not the slickest device we’ve seen, but it’s definitely not bad looking either. Honestly, it’s about what we expected from Amazon.

No new details have come along with the leak and the device shown is said to be the first of several Amazon smartphones set to roll out. The rumor mill says the device will have a 4.7-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM, six camera modules (3D effect), 13MP rear shooter, and a Snapdragon processor.

As you’d expect, Amazon’s smartphones will run a forked version of Android similar to what you seen on the Fire’s and it’s safe to say you won’t be able to access Google Play. It’s an Amazon device, and like all Amazon devices, it’s going to live in a walled environment hooked in to all Amazon’s services. One of those services could be the Prime Data plan we’ve been hearing so much about.

Normally we’d throw out the “take it with a grain of salt” line, but you can bet the farm Amazon is going to produce a smartphone later this year and it should fall right in line with what we’ve seen and heard about thus far. There’s been no word on a solid release date, but you can expect the first Amazon smartphone to be ready in time for the busy holiday season.
