Samsung and Barnes & Noble team up for the Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK

Barnes & Noble got people’s attention with their NOOK lineup long before Android tablets have become as popular as they are today. Kindles and NOOKS… remember those good old days? Apparently Barnes & Noble is teaming up with Samsung for their newest Nooks with the Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK.

As the name implies, the Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK is essentially a version of the 7-inch Galaxy Tab 4 with NOOK branding. This means unless something changes, the device will have a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, and 8GB of storage which should go up to 64GB with the MicroSD slot. The resolution would be 1280 x 800 and there would be a couple of cameras to go along with a 4000mAh battery.

Samsung could change some things around a bit, but the Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK will more than likely carry those specs with some NOOK software that will focus on eBooks and Magazines. You can bet the NOOK shop will be pre-installed, but it remains to be seen how much the UI will be changed to better serve NOOK users.

If you’re interested in picking up the Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK, you won’t have to wait long. The tablet will be ready to go in August and you can pick one up from the B&N online shop or at any of their stores in the United States. Pricing hasn’t been announced, but it should come in at around $200 bucks or less.
