LG has a hit on its hands with the LG G3, but what about the G Pad that was announced earlier this year? Today LG announced the global availability of the LG G Pad 10.1, and it’s set to start its worldwide rollout later this month.

Smartphone manufacturers have been competing to see who can produce the fanciest flagship this year, but that’s not the case with tablets. Aside from Samsung’s new Galaxy Tab S lineup, nobody has really wowed us with a slate this year. Unfortunately, that includes mid-range LG G Pad 10.1.GPad 10.01_2 outline

The LG G Pad 10.1 will have a resolution of 1280×800 with a quad-core Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2GHz under the hood. The tablet will have 16GB of storage coupled with 1GB of RAM and a massive 8000mAh battery. A 5MP/1.3Mp camera combo rounds things out along with some of the G3’s UX features like Smart Keyboard, Touch & Shoot and Knock Code.

LG has impressed us with their last two flagship smartphones, but we’re still waiting on a jaw-dropping tablet from the company as the G Pad 10.1 isn’t it. That said, it could still get LG’s foot in the door if priced right as not everyone is in the market for a $500 tablet. The LG G Pad 10.1 is set to hit the streets later this month in the United States along with other markets including Asia, Latin America and Europe.
