The Spark Watch Can Keep You from Snoozing

Smartwatches come in many shapes and forms, but just how smart do you need your watch to be? The Spark Watch is a new kind of watch that’s just made its way to Kickstarter, and while it may not be as smart as the G Watch or Pebble, it’s built to keep you from crashing in the middle of the day.

Sleep doesn’t discriminate. Whether you’re a toddler falling out from a sugar rush or an adult stuck behind a desk for half the day, we all get sleepy. If you’re one of those folks that has to fight back the sandman, the Spark Watch may be just the thing for you as it’ll keep you from snoozing while keeping you on track.spark.watch

The Spark Watch doesn’t shock you into a state of alertness (unfortunately), but it does a couple of motion sensors that keep tabs on how you move during the day. By tracking your patterns, it can detect when you’ve passed out, and send a vibration through the watch that can wake you from your slumber. You can even set the intensity of the vibration in case you’re known to tap hard naps, and if you don’t want to be woken up, just turn on “Time Mode” and you’re good to go.

While the Spark Watch won’t let you take incoming calls or track your fitness, it can go around 7 days on a full charge, and it has a color LED screen. It’s a bit fancier than your typical LED watch, and it’s creators have hinted at some unannounced features as well. If you’re wondering about the specs, wonder no more…

  • 1.63-inch full color LED   240×240
  • 12mm wide
  • 100grams
  • Stainless Steel body
  • Water “Resistant” to a degree
  • Micro USB port
  • Standard lithium-ion battery (5-7 days per charge)

The Spark Watch is up and running on Kickstarter, and thus far they’ve managed to rake in $11,359 of their planned $6,000 goal. There are still 26 days left on the clock, and they’re adding stretch goals along the way. The watches are affordable, but you’ll want to move quickly as the Early Bird tiers are going quickly.rewards

If everything goes according to plan, the first Spark Watches are expected to roll out in November. If you’re in the market for a watch that keeps you awake, hit up the link below and check out Blanc Watches Kickstarter for the Spark Watch.
