We just told you about how around half of all iOS devices were already up and running iOS 8. There were a few issues, as is to be expected whenever a new OS update hits the net, and Apple addressed some of those problems with the iOS 8.0.1 update. Well, not long after the update went out Apple has pulled it due to a variety of issues that were rendering some users devices inoperable.

There are a slew of handsets running the latest version of Apple’s mobile OS, and the iOS 8 update issues have been plentiful including an iOS 8 multitasking gestures problem. The crash rate was reported to be higher than it was with iOS 7 when it launched, and it’s affected a variety of devices including the iPhone generations 4-6, the iPad’s, minis, and the 5th gen iPod Touch.

Apple issues the iOS 8.0.1 update today to squash a few bugs and fix a HealthKit issue, but it appears as if it’s caused more harm than good for some folks. Some users are reporting that their cell service has been totally disabled since the iOS 8.0.1 update while other problems are milder like Touch ID not working and various other technical issues.

With all the iOS 8.0.1 update issues, Apple had no choice but to pull the update until they can get a handle on things. Rest assured, that will be soon as Apple has always been quick to rectify issues with new software updates.
