Digitsole can track calories and keep your feet warm

Smart tech is creeping into every aspect of our lives, and sometimes it shows up in the most unusual of places. We talked about the runScribe last month, and today we’re going to take a look at another gadget for your feet called Digitsole.

Nothing is worse than having frozen toes – this is a fact that everyone knows regardless of your locale. The Digitsole aims to solve that problem once and for all as it’s a “smart insole” of sorts that works in conjunction with your favorite Android or iOS smartphone. You can actually adjust the temperature of your shoes with the app, and while that’s certainly an accomplishment, it’s just the beginning of what the Digitsole can do.digitsole-1

Once you’re synced up, you can warm each insole individually or at the same time. It even has a built-in thermostat that kicks in if the shoe temperature drops below the temp you’ve set in the app. The Digitsole also has some health monitoring features to boot as it can use your weight to track how many calories you’ve burned while wearing the smart insoles. Want some tech specs? Here you go…

  • 13mm to 5mm heel to toe
  • 3.5 ounces
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • Maximum Heat Level 104°F/40°C
  • Output in Meters or Miles – Farenheit or Celsius
  • High Capcity USB rechargeable battery (7-8hours per charge)
  • Water resistant

The Digitsole is live on Kickstarter, and they’ve already hit their funding goal with plenty of time left on the clock. There are several different sizes available for both men and women, and the cheapest option comes in at $149. Those are expected to arrive in January of 2015, but you can back one of the Christmas levels if you want to have them under the tree this year.

The folks at Digitsole have yet to set a retail price for their gadget, but there are 54 days left in the campaign at the time of this writing so you’ve got plenty of time to snag a set. If you want to keep your feet happy this winter, just hit up the link below to check out the Digitsole.
