Huawei Ascend Y550

Huawei still isn’t a brand you can just walk into a store and pickup like Sammy or Sony, but they’re getting there as their phones are starting to get some global love. If you live in the UK and would like to get an Android 4.4 handset that won’t break the bank, you may want to check into the Huawei Ascend Y550.

The Huawei Ascend Y550 is coming to the UK later this month, and it’s bringing the new 64-bit Snapdragon 410 along for the ride. It’s still mid-range, but the new SoC will definitely pep things a bit compared to the 400 we saw in every budget device under the sun. The rest of the Huawei Ascend Y550 specs include 1GB of RAM, 4GB of expandable storage, and a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 480 x 854.

In terms of cameras, the Huawei Ascend Y550 has two of them with a 5MP rear camera and 2MP front-facing sensor. It gets its power from a 2,000mAh battery, and connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and 4G LTE. The Ascend Y550 will run Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box with Huawei’s Emotion UI slathered on top.

The Huawei Ascend Y550 is headed to the UK through O2 and Amazon mid-October, and it November it will arrive at Tesco, EE, Argos and Carphone Warehouse. The Huwaei Ascend Y550 price is expected to be around £99.
