MWC is still a month away, but there will be plenty of tech announced before the big show rolls into Barcelona. Such is the case with HP, as the company unleashed five new tablets today along with a new 2-in-1. It’s the latter we’re going to take a look at, and the slate is called the HP Elite x2 1011 G1.

HP isn’t big on giving their tablets cool names, but the HP Elite x2 1011 G1 is a slate worth a look if you’re in the market for a convertible Windows tablet. As with a lot of convertibles these days, you’re going to have options in the specs department so we’re going to start with the ones that apply across the board. The 11.6-inch slate has a 33 Whr battery, docking connector for the keyboard, a 5MP/2MP camera combo, and a microSD card slot. It can also take a bit of a beating thanks to being MIL-STD 810G certified.

As for the options, the display comes in two varieties so you’ll be able to choose between 1,920 x 1,080 or 1,366 x 768. The processors listed include several varieties of Intel Core M chips, and the slate can handle up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. You will also get to choose your OS with Windows 7 Pro, Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 Pro. There will be a several accessories and keyboard docks available at launch as well.

The HP Elite x2 1011 G1 looks to be a great option for a Windows slate, but it won’t come cheap. It will be launched through HP’s business division later this month, and the price starts at $899. You can read more about the Elite X2 1011 G1 and the rest of HP’s new slates at the link below.
