The Huawei SnapTo may have an odd name, but there’s certainly nothing wrong with its price. Huawei said they were going to make a dent in the US, and the SnapTo looks to be a great way to start. The low-priced handset it set to debut on April 14th, and it is an alternative if you’re looking for something along the lines of the Moto G.

The Moto G has sold like hotcakes wherever it has landed, and it’s a great way to get started cheaply if you’re new to Android. Huawei is no stranger to producing handsets for budget-minded folks, and the Huawei SnapTo appears to be their answer to the Moto G for the US market.

If you are familiar with the 2nd generation of the Moto G, you’ll be right at home with the Huawei SnapTo. The smartphone features a 5-inch 720p panel with a Snapdragon 400, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. Sound familiar? It should, as those are the same specifications of the Moto G sequel. Rounding things out is a 5MP rear snapper, 2MP front-facing camera, a 2,200mAh battery, and 4G LTE.

The Huawei SnapTo isn’t the sleekest smartphone around, nor is it the cheapest in its class. There are definitely better handsets for your buck, but the Huawei SnapTo would make a fine backup smartphone or entry-level handset for those that don’t need all the bells & whistles. The bezels are large, but the price isn’t as the Huawei SnapTo will only set you back $179.99. It’ll be ready to rock on April 17th, and you can pick one up from Amazon or through various retailers including Best Buy.
