If you’re musically inclined, you are probably familiar with the good old metronome. The tool has been around since the 1800’s, but technology has come a long way since then. If you’re ready to step into modern times, but don’t want to leave your Metronome behind, you’ll want to check out the Soundbrenner Pulse smartwatch.

If you’re reading the article, you already know what a Metronome is, so we’ll spare you the rehash. The Soundbrenner Pulse smartwatch is essentially a Metronome for your wrist and unlike it’s classic counterpart, you can actually “feel” the beats with the Soundbrenner Pulse. It has a haptic feedback system that’s said to be 3-6 times more powerful than the one in your smartphone, and it can also help you practice.

The Soundbrenner Pulse app works with your smartphone, and gives you Rhythm-based exercises to help sharpen your timing and accuracy. If that’s not enough, there is also something called a “Smart Music Coach” which learns from your practice sessions and motivates you with goals. Don’t want to be tethered to the smartphone? Not a problem as the watch lets you adjust the tempo through tapping and twisting.

In the design department, the Soundbrenner Pulse smartwatch is simple, but comes with a couple of different sized bands so you can strap it on your wrist, ankle, etc. As you can see from the photos, it features a Tron-like LED setup as well, which can be set to silent if you prefer to skip the pulse and just go with the haptic feedback. If you do dig color, the app will let you choose from “hundreds” of different hues to suit your mood.

The Soundbrenner Pulse smartwatch is currently wrapping up its funding phase on Indiegogo, and there is less than a week left on the clock at this time.
