The YouTube Subscription Service is coming to take away those Ads

Believe it or not, there was a time before YouTube was embedded in our lives, and those cat videos had to be shared through email or message boards. People make careers off the service these days, and ads have become a large part of life on YouTube. Today the company let us know they have a way for you to kill those ads with the new YouTube subscription service.

YouTube sent out an email today to channel operators and others that gives a few details on the new YouTube ad-free subscription service. A large portion of the email touched on how content providers can benefit from the subscription revenue, and it seems like they’ll be forking of 55% of the total net revenues from fees attributed to your videos and content. Oddly enough, they didn’t mention pricing for subscribers, so we’re still in the dark for now.

While you may not jump for joy at the news of a YouTube subscription service, it’s something a lot of heavy video watchers will use. We’ve all cursed at the screen once or twice when we’ve been hit with a 20-second ad, and if you’re willing to pay the piper, you can soon kill those ads. Stay tuned, as we expect to hear something official from YouTube soon in regards to the YouTube subscription service pricing.

How much would you be willing to pay to get rid of ads on YouTube?
