Elephone P8000 pre-orders go live at $219

We’ve often talked about speedy handsets from the Far East, and there’s a new one that’s gearing up to launch in the Elephone P8000. As you’d expect, it’s another China-based smartphone, but this time around pre-orders are open to international customers through a third-party seller.

Most of the devices we cover from brands like Elephone, Gionee and Vivo can be difficult to get for most folks outside of China. Occasionally, a third-party seller will get the jump on a new handset and make it available internationally, and that’s the case with the Elephone P8000, which has just shown up on Geekbuying.

The Elephone P8000 won’t be the fastest device around, but it’s got a lot going for it including its price. The device features a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,800, and you’ll find a 64-bit MediaTek octa-core chip and 3GB of RAM under the hood. You’ll have plenty of storage as well with 16GB and a microSD card slot that lets you kick things up an additional 64GB.

On the rear of the Elephone P8000, you’ll find a Touch ID sensor and a 13MP Sony IMX214 sensor to go along with a 5MP snapper on the front. Connectivity options will include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, 4G LTE, and Dual SIM connectivity. The Elephone P8000 is powered by a massive 4,160mAh battery and is set to run Android 5.1 out of the box.

As you can see from the Elephone P8000 specs, the handset isn’t a slouch and should be able to handle whatever you throw at it. Geekbuying currently has the smartphone listed for pre-sale at $219.89, with a shipping date of July 20th.
