You can walk into almost any retailer and pick up a digital photo frame, and we’ve seen our share of them on Kickstarter. A new one has just gotten our attention in the OKO Smart Frame, and it has a cool tech trick its competitor’s lack.

The OKO is billed as a smart frame but looks like a rather large digital photo frame at first glance. Well, looks can be deceiving as the OKO is quite smart, and it even has social skills. The frame will allow you to display pictures you’ve taken on your mobile along with damn near anything else you come across which basically makes it a social media frame.

Whether you want to send photos from your photo to the wall or throw up a random pic you found on the internet, the OKO has you covered. You’ll also be able to send photos to your friends OKO smart frame via an app or send a note to your own like a virtual sticky of sorts. If that’s not enough the creators say you can pull photos from hashtags, watch videos or swap out the frame if you want to switch up looks.

As for the specs, the OKO Smart Frame has a 10.1-inch display with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 and an aspect ratio of 16:10. Other innards weren’t mentioned, but it will connect via Wi-Fi and support a wide range of media formats including H.264, MP4, JPEG, GIF, PNG, MIDI, Vorbis, AAC, and FLAC among others.

The OKO Smart Frame Kickstarter has just gotten underway, and there’s a little over a month left for the company to hit their funding goal of $70,000. The regular OKO price is set at $130 with the first units set to roll out in May 2016.
