Companies like Huawei and Xiaomi are pushing millions of mid-range smartphones for a reason – great specs and a low price. Samsung and many of the other top dogs can’t keep up, but they still keep trying. The latest example is the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition, which may not be as cheap as it’s moniker implies.

Leaks are a common occurrence in the smartphone world, and earlier today the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition found its way online courtesy of Winfuture.de. The site dropped a full listing for the handset complete with the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition specs and loads of photos.

According to the leak, the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition will basically have the same specs as the regular version which means you’ll get a 5-inch display with a resolution of 540 x 960 to go along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

They’ve swapped the processor out for a quad-core 64-bit Marvell PXA1908, which won’t necessarily be seen as an improvement over the Snapdragon 410 found in the previous version. Other features would include a 8MP/5MP camera combo, 4G LTE, NFC, a 2,600mAh battery, and Android 5.0.

The original Galaxy Grand Prime has been a popular smartphone, and the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition could gain just as many fans if the price is right. The rumored Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime Value Edition price tag is said to be around €200, which is cheap but not nearly as cheap as some of its competitor’s mid-range offerings.
