Not a week goes by that we don’t hear something regarding the Galaxy S6 Plus release, and it’s all but certain Samsung will soon unveil the phone to the world. Today’s bit of news comes out of Korea where a new report suggests two new Samsung Galaxy S6 variants are on the way.

Rumors of an upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 Plus release are nothing new, but hardly anyone can agree on whether the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus exists or will come to market. Business Korea is reporting that both handsets are still in the works, which meshes nicely with the previous rumors regarding the Galaxy S6 variants.

According to their industry sources, Samsung will release Project 2 aka Project Zero 2 with the model SM-G928. This is said to be the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, basically a supersized version of the device with the same name. The second Galaxy S6 variant is the Galaxy S6 Plus, which is also a larger version of Samsung’s 2015 flagship. A few specs were mentioned, but we already have a good idea of what to expect from previous leaks.

Various leaks have suggested there won’t be a follow-up to the Galaxy Note Edge as the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will step up to take its place. That device is rumored to sport a 5.67-inch QHD panel with a Snapdragon 808 and 3GB of RAM. Other features include a fingerprint sensor, 16MP/5MP camera combo, and possibly a non-removable 3,000mAh battery. The Galaxy S6 Plus is thought to have similar specifications, sans the curved display.

Whether Samsung will release one or both variants at the same time is anyone’s guess, but you can bet the farm we’ll hear something official before the new iPhone’s arrive. We still have the Galaxy Note 5 waiting in the wings as well, so it will be interesting to see how Samsung’s sales pan out once the new additions have been added to their mobile catalog.
